7. The psychological and emotional outcomes of cyber bullying are similar to real-life bullying outcomes, except for the reality that with cyber bullying there is often no escape. School ends at 3 p.m., while the Internet is available all the time.

9. Girls are about twice as likely as boys to be victims and perpetrators of cyber bullying.

Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyberstalking.Children have killed each other and committed suicide after having been involved in a cyberbullying incident.The primary cyber bullying location where victimizing occurs, at 56%, is in chat rooms.Cyber bullying has increased in recent years.
